Why do I need a Level 2 charger? Can’t I just use the one that came with my car?

What’s the difference between plug-in and hardwired versions?
Choose plug-in if you already have a properly installed NEMA 14-50 outlet and want flexible 40A Level 2 charging. Choose hardwired if you want the fastest EVDANCE home charging setup—up to 48A / 11.5kW on a dedicated 60A circuit, installed by a licensed electrician.
Can I install the EVDANCE EV charger myself?
The plug-in version can be installed without changing your home circuit if you already have a compatible NEMA 14-50 outlet—simply plug in and charge. The hardwired version requires a licensed electrician because it connects directly to a dedicated circuit and may involve electrical upgrades. EVDANCE offers Treehouse installation support for a safer, professional setup.
Can I mount it outdoors?
Yes. EVDANCE is IP66 + NEMA 4 rated for indoor and outdoor use, helping protect against dust, rain, snow, sleet, and splashing water. Built for year-round home EV charging from -22°F to 122°F.
Can I control how fast it charges?
Yes. EVDANCE lets you adjust charging speed with both a hardware DIP switch and app control. Set the max amperage at 16A, 32A, 40A, or 48A, then fine-tune from 6A to your max in 1A increments—ideal for matching circuit capacity or charging during off-peak hours.
What safety protections does it have?
